Inspired both by Parisian décor and the elevation of Downtown's dauntingly tall buildings, Perch's rooftop bar feels like a little French nest in the otherwise bustling city below. In a classic Downtown historic building, you have to take two elevators (keep pressing the button with the little gold bird embossed next to it) to get to the top of this classic antique inspired venue. Up on the 15th floor, it is easy to guess where Perch got its name. You feel as though you are in a safe little bubble of exquisite French flare, perched above Los Angeles. Inside you can grab a seat at their café like tables and comfortably look out over the city and even spot some stars on a clear night. But the 15th floor isn’t really the top floor here. Climb up one more set of stairs to the 16th floor and you can walk out into an al fresco rooftop lounge above both the city and the restaurant below. There, a DJ is usually cranking out some tunes (anything from cool jazz to more upbeat tracks) while a smattering of patrons drink wine clustered around their fireplaces and fire pits. From anywhere on the roof you can see the entire skyline of the city while your group indulges in some good food and drink as the smooth breeze between the skyscrapers cools everything off.
