A huge dance club with a New York City feel, Arena in Hollywood attracts a party-ready crowd of gays, minors and other club kids looking for fun. With themed nights arranged for both 18+ and 21+ crowds, Arena offers a low-key attitude with different dance-friendly music genres throughout the night, two levels to explore and plenty of space to stretch out and get down.
With two levels for dancing including a massive dance floor downstairs, a spacious patio and an outdoor balcony above, Arena is Hollywood’s biggest dance club and features inexpensive cover, a sweaty rave atmosphere and a friendly and easygoing crowd. Known mostly as a gay venue, Arena also caters to minors, and various nights will either be 18+ or 21+, depending on the day of the week. Music is varied throughout the rooms and throughout the night, with everything from dance music and hip hop to Top 40 and Latin genres like salsa, corridos and cumbia. Different nights of the week bring different themes to Arena, starting on Wednesday with Delicious, an 18+ gay night featuring hip hop, reggaeton and R&B music. Thursday is Hedon, another gay night that separates the boys (18+ downstairs) from the men (21+ upstairs). Friday nights attract a straighter crowd, with hard-hitting EDM, and Saturday is Boys Night, a 21+ event that runs until 4AM and features 20 male go-go dancers along with a surprise show at midnight. Depending on the night you arrive in the Arena, you may have a very different experience. But rest assured it will be young, hot, sweaty and unpretentious – a dance club made for cruising.
Arena hosts a number of special events, from Halloween blowouts to drag competitions and free barbeque parties. Check the venue website for more information and to find out how to be put on the guest list.
The area around Arena can be a bit shady, so park on the street for free at your own risk, or ante up and pay for valet for a more secure space for your vehicle.
