People love Bigfoot West for all sorts of reasons. Some people simply can't get enough of its romantic, creaky saloon meets ski cabin vibe. Some people are partial to their amazing and creative specialty drinks that you just cant get anywhere else. Some patrons are obsessed with this spot's outdoor patio. Whatever the reason, one thing is certain- a night at Bigfoot West is a night well spent.
Part saloon, part log cabin, and part museum, Bigfoot West is one of the hippest and most unique lounges that L.A.'s Westside has to offer. From the outside, this spot looks like an old watering hole from the Wild Wild West, once inside it transforms slightly, into more of an antique ski cabin sort of vibe. The entire place is made to look like Paul Bunyan just finished sawing down the trees to piece the lounge together. Over the large bar in the center is a massive installation of tree stumps that truly completes this woodsy feeling. With deep red worn in bar stools and booths (strategically placed in cozy nooks and corners of the romantically lit establishment), and carved stone accents, Bigfoot West pulls off the snug cottage atmosphere without a hitch. To add to the lodge style they have going, they even offer themed drinks like the Toasted Marshmallow (made with vanilla vodka, butterscotch liqueur, creme de cocoa, Irish cream and a toasted marshmallow) that really get you in that wintry mood, even when it's 80 degrees outside. Every detail of Bigfoot West was clearly thought out, from their antler wrapped chandeliers to their faded totem poles encased in glass. To really push this lounge/bar over the edge, they even import hot, delicious and fresh baked empanadas from their neighboring bakery. Bigfoot West also hosts live bands and a lively trivia night to keep things spicy. It's not uncommon to see couples and dates chatting over their whiskey drinks early in the night, but as time goes on, this spot is usually packed with 20 and 30-something groups of friends. Always upping the fun and funky quotient, Bigfoot West is definitely the kind of place you come for happy hour and end up staying still close. This is L.A., so you can leave your snow boots behind, but do bring your adventurous spirit. You never know, you might even spot Sasquatch!

People flock to Bigfoot West for the weird and awesome atmosphere and their specialty drinks, but this spot is also a sanctuary for those that like the stronger stuff. Within their log cabin walls, this spot houses over 100 different whiskeys.
Bigfoot West is definitely a favorite spot among locals, and as such, it tends to pack in the patrons. If you are looking for a more low key night, and want to make sure you catch every detail of this spot's awesome decor, make sure you come for happy hour on a weekday. Otherwise, prepare yourself to be immersed in plenty of other people looking for a drink and an empanada.
Bigfoot West boasts an impressive collection of cool and unique cocktails that would give any jaded drinker hope. Their specialties tend to play into the bar’s rustic ski lodge theme, like for example, the Toasted Marshmallow comprised of vanilla vodka, butterscotch liqueur, creme de cocoa, Irish cream and a toasted marshmallow. But where this bar really shines is in its distribution of the harder stuff. Bigfoot’s massive whiskey selection transforms this dark cabin-like watering hole into a whiskey lover’s haven. Here whiskey aficionados can indulge in any of their 100 different types available. Keeping their whiskey drink recipes old school, they also incorporate local fare from the farmer’s market to make every California whiskey lover swoon with pride and delight.
