The Brass Monkey is one of those places where you can indeed have crazy, crazy nights. It looks huge on the outside, but is pretty cramped on the inside, so be sure to get there early. This little place is great to see all kinds of people here - really the melting pot of LA - all ages, ethnicities, and walks of life, which makes the variety of the karaoke here the best part. You can hear country, punk, metal, girly pop, boy bands, classic '70s rock, and swing all in the same night. The drinks are cheap and stiff, the song book has all the usual karaoke favorites and more, and the crowd gets better as everyone gets liquored up. The bartenders are what really make this place - making sure everyone has drinks in their hands and is having a great time. Just be sure to get there before 8pm so you can be sure to snag a spot on the song list - this Los Angeles karaoke bar can get real packed real quick.
