Well, if you haven't been to The Federal Bar on the newly developed area of NoHo on "Lankershim Lane", then you need to be there. The Federal Bar is the premiere neighbor bar/restaurant meets entertainment venue/club in the valley. With and old school rustic sort of feel, the décor has loft like urban sophistication. The combination of good food, good beer, good people, good music, and good theme nights is what makes this place an all around good time. Whether you downstairs enjoying the Lamb Apricot Meatballs or upstairs enjoying the music, your appetite for a culinary, auditory, or courting experience will be more than satisfied.
From 11:30am until close, this place is pulsating with class, pizazz, and all things maturely musical every day of the week. A few nights of the month you may enjoy book reading, soul singers, poetry or a multitude of musical magnificence upstairs while downstairs you ears are treated to the smooth sounds of jazz, r&b, or maybe even a live pianist. Speaking of the keys, NoHo resident piano player, Randy Emata plays downstairs virtually every Tuesday while The Federal Affair going on upstairs plays home to you live jazz lovers. Wednesdays belongs to you beer drinkers, as the "Beer Dinner" promotion is definitely a winner. Thursday is actually my personal favorite night at this chic shack. The night plays host to Rebels of Comedy upstairs before DJ Burt Blackarach and MC MaddLove take you on an "Award Tour" of old school Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Funk, and all things groovy while DJ Michael Basic gets the Deep House, 90's R&B, Elecro-Swing, and Jazz poppin' downstairs. Not to mention, the weekends offer that much more but we will let you see for yourself.
No matter which night of the week you decide to step into this adult playground, you will not be disappointed. The Federal Bar is the place where adults mingle, move, and munch with mature madness.
