The Sofitel in West Hollywood has just opened up a little lounge in the back of their impressive hotel. Riviera 31 is a sleek, modern style lounge with just a hint of retro chic flare. Lush couches, small funky tables and an awesome VIP area make this the ultimate lounge in the area.
Tucked away in the back of the luxurious and modern Sofitel Hotel in West Hollywood, Riviera 31 exudes all the cool effortless style you would expect from a new lounge on the scene. After you walk past the Sofitel’s grand entrance with intimidatingly high ceilings displaying awesomely funky oversized modern art, you will travel to the back of their sleek building and find the entrance to the Riviera 31. This dark corner of the hotel opens up into a medium sized lounge, replete with plush couches for sprawling out with some friends or getting cozy with a date. The dim lighting along with the red couches and black and white curtains and pillows give the Riviera 31 an extremely intimate and exclusive vibe, perfect for special events, or a dressy night out with the girls (or even a night out looking for girls). There is usually a DJ spinning hip tracks from his booth overseeing the venue, creating a cool and hip atmosphere while groups snack on delicious appetizers and specialty cocktails. If you find yourself behind the red velvet rope of the VIP area, you get awesome bottle service (that actually comes out illuminated by LED light inside of an actual miniature boat), and a great view of the area. A long wooden table that stretches across the middle of the room is a good place to gather with friends, but occasionally it gets co-opted by sexy burlesque dancers stomping their heels and shaking their fringe for delighted patrons. Getting more and more crowded as the night goes on, if you feel you need a quick break from the pulsating tunes and performances, you can always step outside onto the back patio. There you can catch a breath of fresh air, reflect on what an awesome night you are having, and start to plan your return to the Riviera 31.

Riviera 31 is fairly new to the scene, opening up in 2013. Being part of the Sofitel Hotel, this place is also part of a long history of totally amazing luxury endeavors. Sofitel hotels have attracted high-end discriminating clientele all over the world.
Since Riviera 31 is conveniently located inside a super popular hotel, there are always cabs lining the block outside. Forget about trying to muddle through L.A. parking when you come here. This place makes it really easy to utilize other transportation options. Take advantage of their full service valet crew or cab it. You won't regret paying a couple extra bucks to avoid the agony that is street parking in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area.
