Southern hospitality is in full effect at the House of Blues smaller club upstairs, the VooDoo Lounge. With happy hour every day (yes, including weekends), the VooDoo Lounge is sure to become a favorite spot for locals and music lovers passing through town. This is an ideal place to grab a beer, or a whiskey and relax with some good food while checking out some cool local Los Angeles acts.
The House of Blues is known the world over as a premiere spot for rock and roll acts. The list of icons that have graced their stage goes on and on, making this famous location a must-see venue for music lovers. Tucked away up the stairs in a back corner of the House of Blues is the VooDoo Lounge, a lesser known spot that compliments the bigger main stage area below perfectly. Walking into the VooDoo Lounge patrons feel like they are stepping into a New Orleans style wooden shack. One side of the intimate spot is covered in big bold paintings drawn directly on the wooden walls and pillars alongside cool knickknacks and other memorabilia that feel like they were taken directly from places in the Big Easy. Marrying this style with classic Los Angeles, on the other side of the lounge is a giant wall of floor to ceiling windows that overlook a glittering L.A. below. Next to the bar is a small stage, which is ideal for seeing up and coming acts that are not quite ready to make the transition to the larger stage downstairs in the main area. There, a variety of groups (usually with a bluesy or rock and roll flavor) play to a small crowd while couples sip their beers at tiny tables for two or larger groups relax on the worn in couches near the back, making for an ideal evening for pretty much anyone.

The VooDoo Lounge is actually part of the House of Blues, but you won't need to pay the full prices of the main stage area to indulge in all the venue has to offer. For a smaller fee, you can go straight to VooDoo and see different acts while enjoying the
This is one of the rare places in West Hollywood (or really anywhere) that offers happy hour on the weekends. Make sure you take advantage of their stellar deals while every other place charges full price for brews. From 5pm to 7pm this is the best spot to be in the area.
